Palestine & Gratitude

Every day, we wake up to a routine ; breakfast, work, conversations, and returning home to rest. Sometimes, we complain about the little inconveniences in life: slow traffic, workload, or even a meal that didn’t taste as expected.

We forget how much comfort we actually have, how much security surrounds us, and how much ease we take for granted.

Meanwhile, in Gaza, Palestine, life is a daily battle for survival. Parents put their children to sleep without knowing if they will see the next sunrise. Homes crumble under airstrikes. Water, food, and medical supplies are luxuries, not guarantees. And yet, amid this unimaginable suffering, we still see faith, resilience & gratitude.

This isn’t about comparing struggles 🙏🏻

Pain is pain & hardship is relative.

But Palestine serves as a reminder: if those who have lost everything can still hold onto gratitude and faith, what excuse do we have? Gratitude is not just about saying "Alhamdulillah" when things are good; its about holding onto faith when things are difficult, about using our privileges to help those in need, and about remembering that everything we have is a blessing, not a right.

Being grateful isn’t passive, it’s an action.

It means using our voices, our wealth, our time, and our platforms to stand for justice.

It means understanding that our comfort should never make us blind to the suffering of others. If we truly appreciate what we have, we should be the first to share, the first to advocate, and the first to help.

Gratitude without action is empty. And in a world where silence enables oppression, we must ask ourselves , what are we doing with the blessings we have?
